Farm Tour with Serenity Acres Farms
Have you ever been on a farm or taken a farm tour? Want a fun filled, educational, exiting farm experience? You came to the right place!
What your Farm Tour at Serenity Acres Includes
On your Farm Tour at Serenity Acres Farms you will hear about the humble beginnings of Serenity Acres Farms. You will also have the opportunity to milk a goat (seasonal), play or cuddle with babies (seasonal) or adults and give them treats. You’ll have a chance of hand picking and collecting your very own farm fresh eggs.
The cute and cuddlies
We breed so that they deliver in the warmer months typically April-June, so if you are looking to see the babies that would be the ideal time. You can always inquire as to whether or not we have babies on site for your visit. We educate you on the history of goats, breed, what they are used for and much more!
The Fowl
Our tour also includes education about chickens, ducks and turkeys with of course some stories as well. Join us for the opportunity to collect eggs, learn about different breed of chickens and ducks, give them treats.
Horses
We have 2 mares and a filly. They are currently in training and we will be providing horse trail rides. The mares are registered with the American Quarterhorse Association. They are all gentle and love snacks and ear scratches!
Tour Overview
The tour is approximately 90 minutes long. There is walking involved for the tour, we also provide chairs and benches for those that may need to rest during the tour. Serenity Acres Farms includes a small lunch with the tour and people of all ages are welcome. While we do not charge anything for the tours, donations are welcome.
What makes us Different
Serenity Acres Farms is unique in the fact that we are entirely off-grid. We haul water for ourselves and our animals, we use solar for power and have a generator for back up purposes. This is as close as it gets to the Pioneer days with of course modern amenities and tools. Of course to set the record straight; we do have running water, we do have electricity, we do have refrigeration, we just don’t rely on anyone for these things. Our goal is to become self sustainable in every fashion and we are well on our way!
Where are we located
Our farm is located roughly 10 miles off the main highway, the roads are unpaved and lean to the rough side in some spots. A car can make it without issue providing you watch for the rough areas. The terrain is also rocky and cactus are present in some undeveloped areas. We recommend hiking shoes or closed toe shoes at a minimum and comfortable clothing appropriate for the time of year. Due to our elevation (4800ft) the temperatures run about 10 degrees cooler on most days, dress appropriately.
